Job title: Retail and Operations Associate

Location: King’s Cross, London

Role Overview

The Retail and Operations Associate will be integral to the operations and retail success of Fabrica X. This is an on-site role that combines operational precision with customer-facing storytelling, connecting visitors with the sustainable innovations showcased. The Associate will work closely with the Manager and wider Fabrica X team to ensure a seamless customer experience across all facets of the space.

Core Responsibilities

Gallery and Retail Store Operations

  • Support retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and achieving sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the Manager and team to curate visually compelling retail displays aligned with sustainable themes.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances by taking on additional responsibilities as needed to maintain operational excellence and achieve optimal results.

Retail Brand Management

  • Manage relationships with retail partners, including maintaining stock files, handling invoices, and ensuring compliance with legal documentation.
  • Scout and engage emerging start-ups, designers, and artisans for potential partnerships. Arrange introductions, tours, and follow-ups, handing over to the Manager for partnership finalisation.
  • Oversee operational processes post-partnership, including invoicing and agreement management.

Customer Experience and Storytelling

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging visitors with the story behind products, assisting with queries and purchases, ensuring memorable experiences.
  • Host engaging and informative tours of the Fabrica X space, effectively communicating its exhibitions, education around the innovators and retail elements to visitors.
  • Handle impromptu visits from partners and collaborators with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Work closely with the coffee shop team to enhance the overall experience for visitors, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the space.

Event and Workshop Coordination

  • Support events, workshops, and functions with enthusiasm and adaptability.
  • Assist with planning and executing Fabrica X events, ranging in scale and audience size.
  • Identify opportunities for experiential workshops in collaboration with the Hong Kong team and external partners.
  • Coordinate workshop logistics, ensuring alignment with business and curatorial priorities.

Innovation and Growth

  • Work collaboratively with team members and external partners to deliver high-quality experiences for guests and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about trends in sustainable fashion and agrifood tech, sharing insights with the team to enhance customer interactions.
  • Actively gather and apply customer feedback to refine service and retail standards.

  • Proficiency in operational processes, such as managing invoices and stock.
  • A skilled salesperson with a keen understanding of revenue drivers and a commitment to delivering memorable customer experiences.
  • An engaging storyteller who can connect visitors with the ethos of Fabrica X.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative environment and take initiative.
  • Experience in retail or operational roles, preferably within sustainable industries.
