We’re excited to announce that for the third year running The Mills Fabrica is the official innovation partner for London Craft Week, 8th-14th May 2023. Join us in Kings Cross for an array of exhibitions, workshops and an exclusive one-day industry event of keynotes, panels and conversations around ‘Planet-Saving Innovations’.
London Craft Week returns for its ninth edition, bringing together the work of celebrated and emerging artists, makers and designers. The festival will showcase the best of craftsmanship and creativity from around the world.
Fabrica X, our innovation gallery and concept store, will be showcasing biomaterials juxtaposed with craftsmanship, with Biofabricate as our knowledge partner. Paying homage to our ancestors and preserving their techniques while celebrating a new form of craft by scientists and bio designers.

This year, our flagship industry event “Planet-Saving Innovations” returns. Our programming will feature a series of keynotes, conversations and panels with the leading innovators and brands within the fashion industry, that are collectively tackling some of the biggest challenges we’re facing on our planet. In this two-hour workshop, make your own custom sustainable handwash based on the innovative Blackmarket refill system. Participants are guided through creating their fragrance before making a handwash refill with it.

In this workshop, experiment with producing your own embellishments and sequins made from a range of biopolymers and natural pigments. Create gels that are formed into shape in CQ Studio’s handmade moulds, before learning stitch techniques to apply your new embellishments onto a unique embroidered design.

Attend an exciting workshop that combines textile screen printing with Colorifix’s bacterial dyeing technology. This hands-on session is led by Ruth Lloyd, a Living Colour systems researcher, textile print designer and Colorifix creative resident.

Founders Paul-Etienne and Sarah will guide you through creating your own natural dyes from fern foraged in ‘Forêt De Marchiennes‘ in Northern France. You will then use this to colour your own Maison Errance-designed, interior sculpture, to take home.

Join this part-learning, part-making workshop to hear behind-the-scenes stories about the local female weavers from the Dulong River Valley and how the colour combinations of naze naze products are developed. You can also create your own colour combinations with the yarns used by the weavers and take home a small gift.

Eggshell Ceramic, a biomaterial, transforms food waste into biodegradable accessories, replacing our reliance on non-renewable materials. The Eggshell Ceramic can be dissolved in water and become a fertiliser to provide plant nutrients! Join our workshop brought to you by Fabrica X, made from eggshell waste donated by our neighbouring restaurants in King’s Cross!
